Grab a brush, and come change a life!  Join us on Mitzvah Day with 2239’s NEW assignment, Sukkot in Spring.  That’s right, no more schlepping!  This year, in coordination with Yachad, we will help paint, clean, and repair the home of a family in need in Washington DC.

Washington Hebrew Congregation’s 2239 auxiliary group is one of 19 synagogue groups in the Greater Washington area joining a large concerted Jewish effort to improve the living conditions of our neighbors through Sukkot in Spring.

We need 12 volunteers so make sure and sign-up fast to help this worthy cause.  We will meet at 11AM at 505 21st St NE, which is Metrobus friendly from the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro stop.  Afterwards, join us at a local pub as we unwind and schmooze (location TBD).

Washington Hebrew Congregation’s Auxiliary for 22-39 Year Olds, “2239” (get it!), is a group of Jewish young professionals who come together monthly for events that include socializing, networking, religious activities, and volunteering. 2239 offers a spiritual home for young Jews in the DC metro area and is proud to be part of Washington Hebrew Congregation’s strong Jewish community. Our goal is to connect young Jews looking for friendship, love, and religious practice through exciting events and activities in and around DC. We welcome everyone, especially those who are new to the city!
